I didn’t know what to expect from this sequel but for sure I wasn’t expecting to like it so much! After liking a lot the first novel I was a bit afraid that this new installment wouldn’t be as good as The Raven Boys but I’m so happy to be incorrect. There were so many things going on and after the big introduction that was the first book, I was very glad to see things moving and developing.
What I liked the most about this book was for sure its innovative plot. The main concept of the dream realm and how it worked was very original and I was curious all the time to know more about it. Not to mention my lovely Ronan. He definitely stood out in this novel. His character development was huge and well done and I felt very satisfied with Stiefvater work. He is definitely the character that shone the most, I was very glad I finally had the chance to know him better, with his pros and cons and also the big heart he has inside himself. I just want him to be always safe and happy and loved and I cannot wait to see what the next book has in store for him.
Another thing that I really liked was witnessing the blossoming of Gansey and Blue’s relationship. I can feel their struggle, I can feel their passion, I can feel that I’m going to cry about what is going to happen between them and I don’t think I’m ready to see it. I can predict it will be a punch in my stomach.
A character I wasn’t the biggest fan of was, unfortunately, Adam. I still see him as a boy that needs to figure out who he is and his place in the world. I didn’t like his bursts of rage and I just hope that this is all part of a plan that will be developed better in the next novel. I just want to love him as much as the other Raven Boys.
The only thing I’m still trying to figure out is the ending. I felt it too rushed and the epilogue left me completely puzzled. After it, I don’t know what to expect from the next book but I just hope it will be as good as the first two installments!

So, here are my opinions about The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater, hope you enjoyed reading about them. If you would like to let me know your own thoughts or if you would like to talk about what I said in this review, please leave them in a comment down below! Thanks for reading.

WWWednesday #20

Hey Readers! Welcome back to my monthly update about the books I’ve read and the ones I’d like to read next. It’s been a while since my last article of this kind, so I thought it would be a great idea to see how my reading schedule is going on. Let’s take a look!

What are you currently reading?

At the moment, I’m halfway through a sci-fi novel called “La Cattedrale di Sabbia” (The Sand Cathedral) by the Italian author Leonardo Patrignani. I just love this author, I’ve read almost all of his works, and his first book, Multiversum, is one of my all-time favourite novels. It’s thanks to Patrignani if I started to be interested and obsessed with the multiverse theory. He has a great mind when it comes to sci-fi fiction. Even this new book is starting to grow on me, after reading the plot I was very curious to know more about it and I’m happy to say that I’m liking it. This book is all about how memories can be manipulated and distorted by our mind and others in a high-tech future.

What did you recently finish reading?

Recently I’ve finished reading a couple of things. The first one of them is the first book in The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater, of which you can read a full review following this link. Another novel that I had the chance to read was Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata. Unfortunately, I have to say that I didn’t appreciate this story completely. I get what the author was trying to tell the reader, but it ended up to be just a flat book. I liked the premise but the plot wasn’t really going anywhere.
Finally, the last thing I read recently was the final volume of Neon Genesis Evangelion by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. I have never seen the anime, so everything was new to me and I’m glad to say that this manga is really really beautiful. The story feels a bit complicated at times, but it wasn’t a problem for me, because every time I picked up a volume, I ended up devouring it. It’s just so interesting and captivating.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Well, if I have to be honest, I still don’t know. One thing I’m sure of is that as soon as I’m done with La Cattedrale di Sabbia, I’ll read the second installment of The Raven Cycle, The Dream Thieves. And after that? I’m not sure whether to pick something up randomly from my TBR jar or just wait and see what my mind is going to decide. I just hope it is going to be an interesting reading. But, if you have any suggestions or recommendations that you would like to share, leave them in a comment, I’d be very glad!

So, this was my WWWednesday, hope you enjoyed it! If you would like to let me know your answers to these questions, please leave them in a comment down below. Thanks for reading!
